Privacy statement

Metaphora attaches great importance to maximum security of (personal) data and does not share personal data with third parties other than for the use of the website and application is necessary or legally required.

For anonymous use of the application using a session code, only IP address and system information of your device are registered. Users are solely responsible for the content that is shared with the help of the software. Metaphora reserves the right to remove content that is not in accordance with Dutch laws and regulations.

Metaphora only works with parties that meet the highest criteria in the field of data security and privacy legislation. Employees and technical support with access to data are covered by a Non Disclosure Agreement. All data and services are hosted in Europe and are subject to the European Privacy legislation and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) Gold Star Certification.

We use the following personal data for the delivery of our services:

  • Name and address details;
  • Phone numbers;
  • Billing address;
  • E-mail address;
  • Payment details;
  • IP address

Metaphora obtains personal data from you. For example the information you provide to us via the website, email, telephone and app. In addition, we may obtain personal data via third parties in the context of our services.

Metaphora processes this personal data for various purposes, such as:

  • Maintaining contact;
  • Good and efficient service;
  • Performing administrative acts;
  • Improvement of services;
  • Invoicing;
  • Collecting funds and taking collection measures;
  • Marketing;
  • Compliance with legal obligations.

To create an account and to be able to create sessions or to maintain access to previous sessions, name, email address and (automatically generated) password are registered.

Licensees can ask users to register themselves with a name and email address. A licensee can also register participants with a name and e-mail address for an invitation to use the application. Of licensees are also stored contact details (e-mail address, name, address, telephone number) and payment data used for invoicing and sending information about changes to the software. The personal data will be stored for a maximum of 7 years after termination of the license for possible re-activation of the account and access to session data and can be removed earlier at the request of the user.

Transfer of your data outside the EEA

Your personal data can be processed outside the EEA. The EEA is the European Economic Area, consisting of the countries of the European Union, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland. Data can be stored by third parties outside the EU when using Google Analytics, LinkedIn or Facebook in the contact with you. These parties are “EU-US Privacy Shield” certified, so that they will comply with European privacy regulations.

How long we save your data

Metaphora will not process personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes it has stated in this privacy statement. This means that your personal data will be kept for as long as they are necessary to achieve the relevant goals. Certain data must be kept longer, because Metaphora must comply with legal obligations, such as the fiscal retention obligation.

If you do not use your account for 12 months, we will mark it in our database as ‘inactive’. In that case, we no longer actively use your account information, for example, to inform you about our products and services. Your account will then be archived so that you can reactivate it at any time, if you want to use our services again in the future.

If you want to cancel your account, we ask you to contact our customer service via info@metaphora.nl. After cancellation we will delete your personal data without undue delay, but with the exception of the information that we are legally obliged to keep. For example, we are legally obliged to keep data such as copies of invoices for seven years.

Provision to third parties

Metaphora may exchange personal data within the framework of its services. Metaphora may use third-party services for the aforementioned purposes, such as the IT suppliers of our website and our systems. In connection with this, personal details will be provided to these third parties. These third parties may only process your personal data for the aforementioned purposes.

Finally, your personal data may be provided to third parties when Metaphora has to comply with a legal obligation. Metaphora will not provide your information for commercial or charitable purposes.

How we secure your data

We believe it is important that your personal data are protected against loss or unauthorized access of your personal data. That is why Metaphora has taken appropriate security measures. If the security of data may have been compromised, this must be reported to Metaphora as soon as possible via info@metaphora.nl.

Cookies are used on the website to improve online services. Cookies are used to process your IP address and the system information of your device.

Your rights

You have the right to request Metaphora to inspect your personal data. After receiving your request you will receive an overview of your personal data within 1 month. If there are any inaccuracies you can request that your data be adjusted, supplemented, deleted or blocked.

You can also request Metaphora to transfer your personal data or you may object to the processing of your personal data due to special personal circumstances.

Metaphora can adjust this privacy statement. New versions are always published on the website. We therefore recommend that you consult this statement regularly so that you are kept informed of any changes
